We emphasise learning with continuous CPD, and a clear progression pathway including NVQ/SVQ enrollment within six months and opportunities to study at degree level.

Job description

Childrens home Whiston is a 5 bed childrens home for young people ages 8-18. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, yet stimulating environment in which young people of all ages who have previously experienced emotional, social and academic failure and rejection in order to stabilise their behaviour. We primarily focus on those who have placement breakdowns in family-based care and other residential based establishments. We believe that wherever possible children and young people benefit from living within a family environment therefore we try to replicate a caring and supportive setting, and so the objective of the home is to provide opportunities for each young person to learn and grow and make informed choices about their own future, whilst offering an environment in which they can take time to rebuild and move forward from any bad experiences in their life

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be at the centre of the fun! Taking young people to see their friends, trips to the cinema, partaking in community events such as fundraisers and galas, teaching the young people to cook, encouraging them to be independent and many other brand new opportunities that they may never have had the chance to do previously. This role allows you to really make a difference to the lives of those under our care and to build strong relationships with the young people and staff alike.
