Job summary

Residential Intervention Worker in Poole is a 37.5-hour week role with a 3 x 12.5-hour shift pattern, including weekends. The post supports individuals with complex needs toward independence and community reintegration, working with probation, police and partner agencies.

The role requires QCF Level 3 in Community Justice (or willingness to work towards) and experience in criminal justice settings, with DBS clearance and right to work in the UK. A competitive benefits package is included.

Qualifications

• Experience planning, delivering, monitoring and evaluating activities within a criminal justice setting.
• Experience working with challenging behaviour and therapeutic or enabling environments.
• Strong communication, listening and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Induct clients and conduct pre-placement meetings.
• Deliver or co-lead one-to-one interventions, groups and activities.
• Support clients to develop independence and reintegration into the community.
• Contribute to risk assessments and risk management plans.
• Share information through agreed procedures and contribute to MAPPA meetings.
• Maintain accurate electronic case notes and records.
• Liaise with probation, police and service providers.
• Promote service rules and licence conditions.
• Use positive role modelling to encourage behaviour change.
• Support wellbeing and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Undertake alcohol/drug testing and Naloxone procedures.
• Carry out room searches and self-harm monitoring.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid.
