Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking Residential Workers for Approved Premises in Southampton. You will support offenders transitioning from custody to the community, ensuring compliance with licence conditions and safeguarding residents and the public.

Based on a single site with potential cross-site duties, these roles require working unsocial hours with premium rates; there is an opportunity to be considered for annualised hours contracts (625 or 1250 hours per year).

Qualifications

• You do not need a degree for this role. We are more interested in your personal qualities.
• Empathetic, patient and resilient disposition is preferred when working with individuals facing personal or social difficulties.
• A good level of numeracy and literacy is required as the role involves some report writing.

Responsibilities

• Support the management of offenders in their transition from custody into the community to achieve successful resettlement.
• Assist with residents' well-being and supervision, helping them to stick to their licence conditions and to keep themselves and others safe.
• Carry out inspections, monitor behaviour and engage with residents, working closely with colleagues and partner agencies.
