About The Role

Due to growth, we have an opportunity for a Legal Assistant to work on a permanent basis within our Plot team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting a team of Conveyancers with caseloads of new build property purchase transactions for multiple UK developments.
  • Drafting and sending out completion paperwork.
  • Handling searches, post-completion formalities, including SDLT and Land Registry registrations.
  • Sorting, organizing, and distributing post in the office.
The team

We are the leading residential development and urban regeneration legal team in the country, acting for 18 of the top 20 UK housebuilders, institutional landowners such as Oxford University, and other sector participants. We advise on the full lifecycle of new build housing, from land acquisition to sale of homes, with schemes ranging from 50 to 20,000 units and large urban regeneration projects. Our team operates across multiple offices and is part of Gateley Plc’s Property Platform, which includes over 700 professionals providing comprehensive property services.

The person

We seek someone eager to develop their career within our Plots team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working within a residential legal department.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight timescales.
  • Computer literacy and experience with case management systems.
