Job description

Anthony Collins are currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join their PI and Clinical Negligence team.

The team represents claimants in personal injury, clinical negligence, abuse, and claims against public authorities. We act for injured children and adults, as well as bereaved families where a person dies as a result of negligence. Our work includes Inquests and civil claims.

We are a well-established, leading law firm, ranked highly in both personal injury and clinical negligence work by Legal 500 and Chambers. We work closely with charities, for whom we are trusted legal partners. As a thriving team, we are recruiting legal assistants to support our growth. The role involves working with all team members across various areas of our work.

Key Duties of the role:
  1. Assist in investigating and progressing client claims for compensation arising from different liability scenarios, including claims against public authorities, clinical negligence, and personal injury.
  2. Attend meetings with clients, conferences, and court hearings, taking comprehensive notes.
  3. Undertake routine drafting and analysis of documentary evidence.
  4. Assist with and undertake legal research.
  5. Handle routine correspondence and telephone calls.
  6. Maintain high standards of honesty and integrity in all dealings.
  7. Accurately record all time spent according to the firm’s system.
  8. Perform administrative duties on files maintained by fee earners.
  9. Maintain and organize relevant resources and publications.
  10. Assist in producing newsletters, marketing materials, and other documents for clients.
  11. Attend training sessions to develop knowledge and support personal and career growth. Those pursuing the CILEX qualification should complete their CPD requirements.
  12. Participate in business development events.
  13. Perform other reasonable duties as required.
About the candidate

You should be hardworking, organized, a good communicator, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to providing high-quality client service and being a strong team player are essential.

Experience in personal injury and/or clinical negligence claims is required. Experience or familiarity with claims against public authorities is desirable but not mandatory.
