Job summary

The People Pod is seeking a Construction Director to lead multi-site residential delivery in the North West. You’ll strengthen the construction function, build the right team, raise standards and implement the structure and discipline to support growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Director or senior leader in residential development.
• Experience strengthening or scaling a construction function.
• Hands-on, energetic leader in a fast-moving, delivery-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the construction function across multiple residential schemes, ensuring safe, high-quality and timely delivery.
• Oversee the full build lifecycle, embedding strong programme discipline and buildability from pre-construction through to completion.
• Work closely with senior leadership to shape construction strategy, sequencing, logistics and delivery models.
• Build, mentor and develop a high-performing construction team with clear standards, accountability and strong site leadership.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Technical and Pre-Construction teams to ensure alignment on programme, cost, quality and risk.
• Maintain rigorous health and safety standards across all sites, ensuring a culture of safe working practices.
• Support early-stage planning and design reviews to ensure efficiency, buildability and commercial viability.
• Drive continuous improvement, implementing systems, processes and ways of working that support growth and operational excellence.
• Represent construction at senior leadership level, contributing to business planning, forecasting and long-term strategy.
• Ensure customer satisfaction benchmarks are met, with a focus on quality, handover standards and aftercare performance.
