Job summary

Building Careers UK is seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead its residential development operations. You will provide strategic and operational direction across a multi-site portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

Reporting to the senior leadership, you will manage Contracts Managers, Project Managers and Site teams, develop processes, build the team, and maintain strong relationships with clients and delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Director or senior construction leader in the residential sector (new build).
• Strong track record of leading multi-site residential programmes from pre-construction to delivery.
• Experience developing and shaping a construction function, building the team, processes and structure for growth.
• Experience in developing and improving construction processes, systems and delivery models.
• Resilient, solutions-focused with ability to manage challenges while maintaining longer-term objectives.

• Reporting on project performance and key operational issues to the senior leadership team.

Job description

A well-established and growing residential contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Construction Director to lead its construction operations across a strong pipeline of residential developments.

The business specialises in new-build residential developments, delivering schemes for Registered Providers, private clients and development partners across the region.

This is a senior leadership position, responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of multiple projects and providing direction to the wider construction team. You will work closely with the senior management and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality and programme standards.

You will also have an important role in the continued development of the construction function, including improving processes, developing the operational team and ensuring the business has the structure and resource required to support its future workload.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in the residential sector. You will currently be operating at a similar level, with proven experience managing multiple projects and leading operational teams.

This would suit an experienced construction professional who is comfortable working at a senior level while remaining closely involved with project delivery and the wider operational performance of the business.
