Job summary

Wilderness Way is hiring a Residential Support Worker to help children in our homes lead safe, stable lives. You will build trusted relationships, support daily routines, and contribute to education, health and wellbeing while helping young people grow in independence and resilience.

For candidates with Level 3, opportunities to mentor others and progress exist, with a comprehensive induction and six-month welcome programme.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals in care, education or youth settings.
• Strong communication skills and genuine passion for helping children.
• Willingness to work toward a Level 3 qualification if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express their wishes and feelings.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists and MDT to achieve positive outcomes.
