Job summary

Wilderness Way is hiring a Residential Support Worker to help children feel safe, supported and valued in a caring home environment. You will engage in school readiness activities, outdoor adventures, life skills coaching and daily routines that promote stability and growth for young people.

No two days are the same, with opportunities to mentor others as a Senior Residential Support Worker and contribute to high standards of care. DBS checks and safeguarding are standard.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in care, education, or youth work.
• Positive and resilient attitude with strong communication.
• Willingness to pursue Level 3 qualification if not held.
• Must be 21 or over and have right to work in the UK.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and be comfortable driving with children.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trusting relationships with children.
• Create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment.
• Support children with education, health and wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help children access new experiences and opportunities.
• Support children to express wishes and feelings.
• Use trauma-informed approaches to support emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with Managers, Therapists, Outdoor Specialists and MDTs to achieve positive outcomes.
