Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Forklift Engineer in the United Kingdom, covering on-site and mobile service across sites. The role includes servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks, diagnosing faults, LOLER inspections, and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.

Overtime opportunities abound with enhanced rates, and a company van with fuel card is provided. Requirements include hands-on experience with diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, good fault-finding

Qualifications

• Experience as Forklift Engineer / Plant fitter or similar.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Nice to have LOLER inspection knowledge.
• Stable work history and desire for long-term career with one employer.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Carrying out LOLER inspections where applicable.
• Responding to breakdowns and performing reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Completing service reports and all relevant compliance documentation accurately.
• Based primarily at one site with mobile duties as required.

Job description

Job Title: Mobile Forklift Engineer

Basic Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

OTE: £35,624 - £47,498 (based on 5hrs overtime)

Overtime is paid at 1.5x - Lots available!

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm

The Role

• This is a mobile role however it will predominantly based at one site


• Servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment


• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults


• Carrying out LOLER inspections


• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance to minimise customer downtime


• Completing service reports, job sheets and all relevant compliance documentation accurately

What We're Looking For

• Experience required: Forklift Engineer / Plant Fitter / Agricultural technician (forklift experience preffered)


• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with diesel engines


• Excellent diagnostic and fault‑finding skills


• Experience working with electrical and hydraulic systems


• Experience or knowledge of LOLER inspections would be desirable


• The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of longevity and stability in previous positions, with a genuine interest in building a long‑term career with one organisation.


• Full UK driving licence

Package:

Basic Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

OTE: £35,624 - £47,498 (based on 5hrs overtime)

OTE: £41,248 - £54,997 (based on 10hrs overtime)

Overtime is paid at 1.5x, with lots available
