Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Mobile Forklift Engineer in Scotland near Glasgow. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of forklift trucks, with overtime options and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Experience as Forklift Engineer, Plant Engineer or similar.
• Knowledge of diesel engines.
• Experience with electrics and hydraulics.
• Strong diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.
• Experience or knowledge of LOLER inspections (desirable).
• Technical qualification (City & Guilds / SVQ) (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repair on forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Carry out LOLER inspections to ensure compliance.
• Complete detailed safety checks and PDIs.
• Respond to breakdowns and conduct reactive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Organise and manage workload and service schedule for mobile positions.
• Complete service reports and relevant compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with parts to source and install correct components.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised working environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.

Job Title: Mobile Forklift Engineer
Basic Salary: £31,000 - £38,000
OTE: £36,811 - £45,124 (based on 5 hours overtime/week)
Overtime: 1.5x
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:0am-4:30pm (40 hours)
Location:Scotland (Depot near Glasgow)

We're currently recruiting for a Mobile Forklift Engineer working with a well-established and employee-focused material handling company. Due to their increased workload, they are expanding their team!

As a Forklift Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment
• Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
• Carrying out LOLER inspections to ensure all equipment remains fully compliant
• Completing detailed safety checks and pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
• Responding to breakdowns and conducting reactive maintenance to reduce customer downtime
• Effectively organising and managing your own workload and service schedule (for mobile positions)
• Accurately filling out service reports, job sheets and all relevant compliance documentation
• Coordinating with parts departments to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed
• Keeping the working environment clean, safe and well organised
• Delivering excellent customer service while representing the company in a professional manner at all times

What We're Looking For
