Job summary

SPACE St Andrews is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to own day-to-day maintenance across residents' rooms, apartments and shared spaces, from fixing a dripping tap to preparing rooms for new arrivals.

You'll be practical, organized and able to prioritise when busy, with experience in general repairs and a caring approach to residents. You’ll work independently but also support the wider SPACE team to keep spaces safe, tidy and well‑presented.

Qualifications

• Prev maintenance, facilities or trade experience preferred.
• Confident tackling a range of everyday repairs.
• Able to prioritise when busy and work independently or with the team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general repairs including basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and minor electrical work
• Responding quickly to resident maintenance requests and aiming to resolve issues first time
• Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Supporting checks and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems
• Coordinating contractors and making sure work is completed to a high standard
• Keeping maintenance records, tools, equipment and stock organised
• Supporting health, safety and compliance requirements
• Keeping plant areas, bin stores and back-of-house spaces safe and presentable
• Supporting the wider team during busy periods, particularly student arrivals, departures and summer turnaround
