Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Handyman for a 10-week assignment in a student accommodation project in Greater London. The role is hands-on and involves reactive and planned maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, well‑kept living environment for residents.

You will perform inspections, fire safety checks, water hygiene tasks, and routine patrols, while keeping accurate logs. Tools are provided and no CSCS card is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, handyman, multi trader work.
• Reliable and self-motivated with ownership of tasks.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently or in a team.
• Customer-first attitude and good rapport with residents.
• Reliable, hands-on and proactive person.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across the property.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks (e.g. fire alarm and emergency lighting testing).
• Fire extinguisher checks and water hygiene tasks.
• Shower head descaling and health & safety inspections.
• Conduct regular building patrols and record issues in the system.
• Perform scheduled room inspections and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain maintenance records; report welfare concerns to management.

Maintenance Technician/Handyman – £17ph + hol pay

Tools provided, No CSCS Card required, 10 weeks

We are looking for a proactive multi skilledMaintenance Operative/Handyman to join a busy student accommodation for 10 weeks. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering an outstanding living experience by ensuring all maintenance and repair requests within the accommodation are handled efficiently and effectively.

This is a hands‑on position where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.

Duties

• Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance across the property.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks, including:
• Fire alarm and emergency lighting testing
• Fire extinguisher checks
• Water hygiene tasks (flushing & temperature monitoring)
• Shower head descaling
• Health & safety inspections
• Conduct regular building patrols to identify maintenance issues and safety risks.
• Perform scheduled room inspections and promptly resolve any issues identified.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and log all issues within the system.
• Follow all health & safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
• Engage professionally with residents, showing empathy and understanding.
• Report any welfare concerns immediately to management.
