Job summary

SPACE St Andrews is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to help look after the grounds and external areas. You will be involved in outdoor tasks, plant care and basic maintenance to keep the surroundings clean and well kept.

The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with early hours from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Practical, reliable individuals who take pride in their surroundings are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Reliable, practical and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
• Previous grounds, maintenance, cleaning or facilities experience would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Rotating bins and supporting waste collections.
• Keeping bin stores clean, organised and hygienic.
• Litter picking across the grounds and external areas.
• Watering and looking after indoor and outdoor plants.
• Supporting grass cutting and general grounds maintenance.
• Keeping paths, entrances and external areas tidy.
• Gritting paths and entrances during cold weather.
• Reporting maintenance, damage or safety issues.
• Supporting wider maintenance and operations team when required.

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to help look after the grounds and external areas at SPACE St Andrews.

The role

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their surroundings and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Rotating bins and supporting waste collections
• Keeping bin stores clean, organised and hygienic
• Litter picking across the grounds and external areas
• Watering and looking after indoor and outdoor plants
• Supporting grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
• Keeping paths, entrances and external areas tidy
• Gritting paths and entrances during cold weather
• Reporting any maintenance, damage or safety issues you spot
• Supporting the wider maintenance and operations team when required
