Job summary

Savills Company is seeking a Maintenance Operative to carry out reactive repairs at a residential building with 331 units across two blocks. You will work under the General Manager to keep the building running smoothly and meet residents' expectations.

You will perform carpentry, painting, general maintenance, and basic plumbing/electrical tasks using site tools. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines are essential in this resident-facing

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a handyman or similar role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for resident interaction.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Flexible and team-oriented with a proactive approach.
• Confidentiality and secure handling of documentation.

Responsibilities

• Basic carpentry work
• Painting and decorating with site-specific training
• General maintenance including tightening screws, signage, carpet edges
• Basic hardscaping such as re-bedding or replacing paving stones
• Weekly flushing of infrequently used outlets
• Use of stepladders and ladders for short duration work
• Replacing lightbulbs
• Replacing domestic appliance fuses
• Void management checks
• Fire Door checks, Emergency Lighting Tests, Bell Testing
• Drainage works
• Tiling
• Reglazing at ground floor level
• Joinery – boarding up broken windows
• Use of basic hand tools and power tools provided by Savills
