Job summary

Adecco is recruiting a Summer Maintenance Operative in Newcastle to support a busy student accommodation turnaround.

This hands-on role covers general maintenance, room refreshes, basic plumbing and decorating, safety checks and assisting move-ins for new residents and summer guests. Pay is £16.50 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE, on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the site
• Assist with room refreshes and preparation for new residents
• Support move-in activities, including occasional heavy lifting
• Complete basic plumbing, painting and decorating tasks
• Undertake paint work, mastic work and replacements
• Perform routine safety checks and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Technician team and wider site staff
• Help deliver a positive experience for residents and guests

• Flexible and proactive, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Good communication skills and a professional manner
• Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential
