Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking a committed Estate Housing Officer to join the Estate Services team in Sheffield. You will act as a key contact for residents and help deliver responsive estate services within your designated area, working with residents, contractors and partner organisations to maintain high-quality estates.

The role emphasises customer care, consultation, and teamwork, with opportunities to engage with local communities and contribute to policy development.

Qualifications

• There are no specified formal qualification requirements. Relevant experience, skills and approach to customer service will be assessed through the application and interview process.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety inspections.
• Support the enforcement of tenancy conditions.
• Manage repair and maintenance matters.
• Investigate and manage environmental issues.
• Visit residents in their homes.
• Provide information and advice by telephone, email, letter and face to face.
• Collect, record and collate statistical and operational information.
• Liaise with contractors and partner agencies to ensure required services are delivered.
• Contribute to the development of local communities and estate services.
• Support stock control, budgeting and other relevant aspects of the Area Team's work.
• Contribute to the development of policies and working practices.
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and challenging situations.
