The Private Housing Standards service in Sheffield is expanding its Liaison Team to improve contact between residents, landlords and officers. The role will handle incoming enquiries, triage repairs, and maintain accurate case records to support regulatory services.

The Private Housing Standards service regulates private sector housing in Sheffield, primarily focusing on improving the conditions and management of privately rented properties. With roughly 45,000 privately rented homes in the city and numbers continuing to rise, the service is looking to expand its Liaison Team.
The role will provide effective contact between customers and Private Rented Standards Officers, manage incoming enquiries and maintain accurate case records to support the delivery of regulatory services.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a passion for making a difference to the citizens of Sheffield, has experience of managing an incoming workload, the skills to deal with customers in an effective manner, the ability to problem solve via both email and on the phone, and a keen attention to detail. It is preferable that the candidate also has a basic understanding of issues relating to housing in the private sector.

The role will require that the candidate spends a minimum amount of time working from a fixed office location each week, but home working is also permitted.
Flexible working hours and 26 days paid annual leave per year (rising to 31 days after 5 years service) plus bank holidays.
One full-time permanent post and one temporary for 12 months post, available for immediate start. (37 hours per week)

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
