Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking an experienced leader to head the Reservoir Regulation team. You will oversee regulation across England to ensure Reservoirs Act compliance for public safety and foster an inclusive, high-performing culture.

You will collaborate with senior regulators, industry experts and external stakeholders to convert strategy into delivery, manage complex risks, and drive change across a national programme.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Regulation, Civil Engineering, Law, or related field.
• Proven strategic leadership with delivery of complex programmes.
• Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and working across agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive stakeholder management, building trust and collaboration.
• Set strategic priorities aligned to EA regulatory strategy and drive delivery.
• Develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement to meet changing needs.
• Foster psychological safety and empower confident decision making.
• Manage complex multi-agency risks to uphold public safety to the highest standard.
• Provide senior input for Reservoir Safety Reform Programme in partnership with Defra.
