Job summary

The Environment Agency is seeking an experienced leader to head the Reservoir Regulation team across England, ensuring compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 in the public interest. You will drive strategic priorities, lead a dispersed team, and work with Defra to deliver reform programmes while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Regulation, Civil Engineering, Law or related field.
• Proven strategic leadership with delivery of high-quality operational outcomes.
• Experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead Reservoir Regulation across England to ensure public safety.
• Set strategic priorities aligned to EA Regulatory strategy and motivate your team to deliver efficiently.
• Embed a culture of continuous improvement to adapt to changing business needs and stakeholder requirements.
• Foster psychological safety to empower decision making and enable innovation.
• Manage complex, fast-paced, multi-agency operational risks to uphold public safety.
• Provide senior input for the Reservoir Safety Reform Programme with Defra.
