Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking an experienced leader to head the Reservoir Regulation team, guiding regulation across England and ensuring public safety under the Reservoirs Act 1975. You will lead a dispersed team of professionals, collaborate with Defra and external stakeholders, and drive change while supporting a diverse workforce.

You will influence senior leaders, industry experts, and professional bodies, delivering strategic priorities and a strong safety culture across England.

Qualifications

• Experience in Regulation, Civil Engineering or Law or similar relevant subject to Reservoir Regulation.
• Strategic leadership experience with a track record of delivering operational outcomes.
• Proven ability to drive high-performance culture and empower teams.
• Ability to generate innovative ideas and deliver value through new approaches.
• Confident, proportionate risk-based decision-making under pressure.
• Able to build consensus and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive stakeholder management to build trust and collaboration.
• Set strategic priorities aligned to EA Regulatory strategy and drive delivery.
