The University of Exeter is seeking a Technical Support professional to provide high-level technical assistance within the Centre for Resilience in Environment, Water and Waste. This role includes managing technical equipment and supporting research activities while ensuring safety and sustainability in laboratory operations.
This new full-time post is available from September 2025 on a permanent basis.
This role will be based in the Centre for Resilience in Environment, Water and Waste (CREWW). The primary responsibility of the role-holder is to provide high-level technical support to academics, researchers, and postgraduate students working with CREWW. The role involves fieldwork in challenging environments, setting up, maintaining, and managing hydrological, meteorological, carbon-cycle, and water quality equipment, with occasional laboratory work to support colleagues. The post-holder will also maintain resources such as space, equipment, and consumables, with support from the Technical Operations Manager, and will support health, safety, and sustainability initiatives across CREWW laboratories. We seek an individual with excellent communication and time management skills, experienced in providing professional technical support in a research laboratory environment.

The starting salary is from £27,644 on Grade D, depending on qualifications and experience.
