Certara accelerates medicines using proprietary biosimulation software, technology, and services to transform traditional drug discovery and development. Its clients include more than 2,000 biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies across 62 countries.

We have an immediate opening for a Research Associate with a background in mathematical modelling and statistical analysis. Previous experience in modelling and analysing life science-related data would be advantageous.

The candidate should have experience conducting literature searches, critically reviewing literature, and conducting meta-analyses of physiological, biological, and clinical data. The post holder will assist with customer support, education, and training related to the use of the Simcyp Simulator and act as a tutor in workshop programmes.

The successful candidate will join an internationally recognized, multidisciplinary research team, offering opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The role does not involve routine laboratory or clinical work. We offer a unique blend of academic and commercial environments that encourage attendance at scientific meetings as part of our continuous education programs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with automating the Simulator simulation using R workflows.
  • Review and develop meta-analysis algorithms used within the team.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of Bayesian algorithms and models within the Simulator.
  • Work flexibly on projects outside previous experience areas.
  • Test the Simulators before and after releases.
  • Present research outcomes via posters, podium presentations, and publications.
  • Handle client queries internally and externally.
  • Support externally funded research and development projects, such as grants and consultancy work, as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Interest and experience in data modelling and analysis.
  • Some understanding of physiological and biological systems modelling and simulation principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetics (PBPK) modelling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles.
