Job description

Research Assistant in Virology, Faculty of Biological Sciences

Salary: Grade 6 (£32,546 - £38,249 p.a.)

This role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an early career researcher looking for your first challenge? Do you have a background in Molecular Cell Biology or Virology? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?

The project will use a range of molecular, cell biology, and cell imaging approaches to highlight novel KSHV-mediated mechanisms to regulate viral gene expression.

Minimum requirements:

  1. A first degree or Master’s in Molecular Cell Biology, Virology, or a closely allied discipline.
  2. Experience in culturing KSHV-infected B lymphocytes.
  3. Knowledge of KSHV reactivation mechanisms and assessing KSHV lytic replication.
