Job summary

Trent & Dove Housing in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Repairs Supervisor to lead a customer-focused, value-for-money responsive repairs service across occupied and vacant homes. Reporting to the Repairs Manager, you will supervise works in progress, coordinate operatives and subcontractors, and work closely with customers to ensure repairs are completed safely, on time and to the right standard.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising responsive repairs or a similar service.
  • Proven people-management skills with the ability to set clear expectations and address performance.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving and customer-service skills.
  • Practical understanding of quality standards, risk assessment and safe working practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
  • Full driving licence, access to a vehicle and appropriate insurance.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional out-of-hours incidents and, if required, participate in the emergency standby rota.

  • Lead, support and motivate a team of operatives, including performance management, one-to-one meetings, training and development.
  • Plan and schedule labour and resources so that targets are met efficiently.
  • Visit sites, assess risks and oversee work through to successful completion.
  • Monitor workmanship, resolve delays and recalls, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Champion health, safety and wellbeing across the service.
  • Provide clear direction to subcontractors and control quality, timescales and costs.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing advice and resolving complaints effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records, audit trails and performance information, making full use of IT systems.
