Repairs Supervisor - Responsive Repairs
Social Infrastructure Division
Role Purpose

The Repairs Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of responsive repairs and maintenance services across social housing and public sector properties. The role ensures that works are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards, while delivering excellent customer service to residents and clients. The successful candidate will lead a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring performance targets, contractual requirements, and compliance obligations are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of operatives delivering responsive repair works.
  • Allocate and monitor daily work schedules to maximise productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure repairs are completed within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs.
  • Carry out site visits, quality inspections, and post-completion checks.
  • Monitor workmanship standards and provide coaching and support where required.
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents, resolving issues and complaints professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure all health and safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements are adhered to.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and performance reviews.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of service failures and customer complaints.
  • Monitor material usage and job costs to support efficient budget management.
  • Maintain accurate records through the company's scheduling and compliance systems.
  • Work closely with planners, schedulers, client representatives, and operational teams to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Participate in out-of-hours escalation processes where required.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience supervising repairs, maintenance, or construction teams.
  • Experience within social housing, local authority, facilities management, or property maintenance environments.
  • Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and planned maintenance delivery.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Competent IT skills, including workforce management and scheduling systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Experience working under social housing contracts.
