Job summary

Mears Group in Peterborough is seeking a Planner to organise and coordinate repairs and maintenance. You will schedule operatives and subcontractors, monitor progress, prioritise urgent work and ensure jobs are completed on time while delivering excellent service to residents and colleagues.

You will use ICT scheduling tools, keep records up to date for audits, and support reporting against KPIs. This permanent role is 42.5 hours per week with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience in fast-paced, pressurised environments.
• Strong IT skills and ability to use scheduling systems.
• Customer-focused with good communication.
• Knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule operatives and subcontractors to deliver repairs on time.
• Monitor and update repair jobs daily (appointments, follow-ups, overdue tasks).
• Support IT systems; ensure PDAs and rates are entered correctly.
• Communicate clearly with residents, operatives and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with admins, supervisors and contractors for a seamless service.
• Cover for other planners and attend meetings or training as required.
• Follow Health & Safety requirements at all times.
• Assist with reporting and KPI monitoring.
