Job description
Job Advert

We are in need of a reliable and professional electrician to work in our repairs team. This role focuses on providing high and consistent standards throughout our stock and maintaining a friendly and professional manner to our tenants.

Typical Day
  • Undertaking all electrical repairs and renovations identified within Acis housing stock and other properties.
  • Ensuring that the correct materials are used to complete the work at the required quality standard.
  • Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports, installation and minor works certificates.
  • Undertaking multi‑skilled works as required.
  • Using and completing work details by use of a PDA hand‑held electronic device.
  • Completing necessary paperwork for parts and material requisitions and orders accurately and on time.
  • Identifying the extent of repairs and installations to complete in one visit, reporting any problems or further action required.
  • Ensuring safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular road‑worthiness checks for vehicles.
  • Carrying out work in line with Approved Codes of Practice, Building Regulations, IEE wiring Regulations, and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards for yourself, workers, customers and the public.
  • Carrying out work to localised risk assessments as required.
  • Undertaking further training and qualifications as the role demands.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds 2360 qualified or equivalent, or evidence of working towards it.
  • 17th/18th Edition certification as a minimum and willingness to learn new work streams.
  • Enjoyment of electrical installations, rewires, fault‑finding and testing.
  • Motivation to coach and support team members.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in domestic electrical work.
  • Good understanding of Electrical regulations.
  • Skillsets in gas installations and repairs with evidence of past achievements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
What Sets You Apart
  • Full NVQ Level Three or equivalent.
  • 2391 or equivalent in sectioning and testing.
  • Fire alarm or emergency lighting testing experience.
  • 2400 or equivalent in electrical design.
  • Gold CSCS skills card.
  • Additional qualifications in commercial gas, oil, solid fuel, renewable energy, unvented hot water systems, water regulations, and building regulations.
