Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking an experienced Repairs Service Manager within Housing Services, Property team, to lead maintenance and repair services across planned works, M&E, and insourced programmes. You will manage a team of trades and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, customer-focused outcomes for tenants.

You will drive performance, value for money and continuous improvement, while maintaining on-site presence and promoting a positive, inclusive culture aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing trade operatives and delivering repairs in social housing.
• Track record of continuous improvement in a diverse community setting.
• Strong health and safety management experience, including risk mitigation.
• Ability to manage and motivate staff, fostering trust and respect.
• Ability to manage complex projects and budgets effectively.
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of high-quality maintenance and repairs services across planned works, M&E, responsive repairs or insourced programmes.
• Lead and support a team of trade colleagues and contractors, driving performance and value for money.
• Monitor delivery against targets; ensure works are completed on time, within budget and to high standards.
• Provide technical guidance on site; promote safe working practices and chain relationships with residents and stakeholders.
• Champion a positive, inclusive culture prioritising customer care, equality and diversity.
• Be a visible presence on site and support continuous service improvement.
