Job Description

Job Title: Repair Design Engineer

Location: Bristol – Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days On-Site Per Week)

Working Pattern: Full Time

As a Repair Design Engineer, you will support operational Defence customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities. Your responsibilities include developing, validating, and implementing innovative repair solutions for mission-critical components, working with advanced aerospace technology to ensure engine efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

This role involves working on a diverse range of products, including engines like Adour, EJ200, RB199, Gem, Gnome, Viper, Spey, MTR390, MT30, Pegasus, TP400, MRTT, and WR21. Key Responsibilities
  • Defining, developing, and validating Repair Instructions and coordinating implementation with internal and external repair suppliers.
  • Establishing acceptance standards for service-run components and supporting MRO operations in hardware disposition.
  • Collaborating with Materials Repair Technology teams to develop and apply innovative repair and inspection technologies.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce repair costs and improve component reliability.
  • Driving continuous process and tool improvements for developing and supporting repair instructions.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A degree in a STEM subject or relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, or Controls).
  • Broad understanding of gas turbine technologies (training can be provided).
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Ability to manage multiple commitments across different customers and timelines.
