Design Engineer

This challenging and exciting Design Engineer opportunity (remote) requires an ambitious engineer with experience in design within the piling, foundations, or ground and geotechnical engineering sectors. The position is remote, so any UK location is considered, but a full UK driving license is required for occasional site visits.

The Person

• Experience in designing piling, foundations, or ground and geotechnical engineering contracts.
• Ability to join and contribute to an established business with enthusiasm and drive.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate to all organizational levels.
• Understanding of design department operations in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage and deliver daily design tasks.
• Ability to maximize business return through design proposals and maintain client relationships.

• Proven client communication experience.

The Role

• Contribute to delivering high-quality design solutions aligned with project specifications and client needs.
• Review and challenge design elements, identify risks, and improve opportunities.
• Produce quality materials, identify constraints, and update project teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Promote core values and collaborate across teams to add value in design processes.
• Support tender processes with design input and control.
• Prepare reports on design performance for decision-making.
• Participate in review meetings, coordinate design and value engineering at tender stages, and ensure legal and policy compliance.
• Manage personal targets, risks, and ongoing issues related to design changes.
