A leading company in specialty vehicles seeks a Design Engineer in Bristol. The role involves creating engineering solutions aligned with manufacturing capabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with various teams. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant experience, with a focus on Lean/Sigma methodologies.
Position Type: Regular Employee | Salary Exempt
Provide accurate, timely, and cost-effective engineering solutions that align with manufacturing equipment and assembly capabilities while meeting customer requirements using Lean/Sigma techniques. Collaborate with engineers, production, purchasing, and customers to create optimal solutions. Develop engineering trees and corresponding solid models, initiate ECN processes, and ensure solutions' effectiveness considering manufacturing impacts. Make necessary design changes and ensure compliance with FMVSS/CMVSS/GVWR regulations using Aurora, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. Apply vehicle design, testing, and certification knowledge, and maximize financial profitability through engineering solutions.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent, and at least one year of relevant experience. Experience in creating engineering trees, solid models, using Aurora, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, applying ANSI-Y14.5 standards, solving manufacturing problems, understanding vehicle testing and certification, and ensuring industry compliance is required. Pre-baccalaureate experience will be considered.
