This challenging and exciting Design Engineer opportunity (remote) requires an ambitious engineer with exposure to design within the piling, foundations, or ground and geotechnical engineering sectors. The position is remote, so any UK location will be considered, but a full UK driving licence is required as occasional site visits are part of the role.

The successful candidate should ideally possess a relevant qualification and experience in design within the civil engineering sectors mentioned.

The Person

• Experience in designing piling, foundations, or ground engineering contracts.
• Ability to join and contribute to an established business with enthusiasm and drive.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Understanding of the requirements of a fast-paced design department, with strong management and delivery skills.
• Ability to maximize business value through innovative design proposals and maintain client relationships.
• Team-oriented, proactive in problem-solving, and capable of promoting innovative solutions.
• Proven client communication experience.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality design solutions aligned with project specifications and client needs.
• Review and challenge design elements to reduce risks and improve efficiency.
• Produce quality material, identify constraints, and update project teams regularly.
• Promote company values and collaborate across teams to ensure effective project delivery.
• Assist in tender design preparations and control design build-up.
• Report on design performance and participate in review meetings.
• Coordinate design and value engineering during tenders.
• Participate in progress meetings and ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements.
• Manage personal targets and risks, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
