Job summary

Middlesbrough Development Corporation is seeking a motivated individual to join the Housing Solutions team for a two-year fixed-term role tied to the Renters Rights Act 2025. The post involves homelessness prevention, multi-agency collaboration, and supporting applicants through changes in tenancy rights.

You will work to deliver compassionate, creative solutions, liaising with landlords and services, with a blended home/office working arrangement where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience in homelessness services or related housing support.
• Familiarity with Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Renters Rights Act 2025 is desirable.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multiple services.

Responsibilities

• Work with Environmental Health and Public Protection on Renters Rights Act aspects.
• Carry out homelessness assessments to prevent homelessness.
• Be creative and innovative in supporting people at risk of homelessness.
• Liaise with landlords to make enquiries around evictions.
• Work with the Housing Solutions team to prevent homelessness.
• Record information accurately and timely, and communicate with colleagues and stakeholders.
