Job summary

Thanet District Council's Housing Options Team is seeking a part-time, permanent officer to join the Homeless Prevention service. The role focuses on providing accurate advice to applicants and landlords about Renters Rights Act 2025, managing a caseload, and supporting households at risk of homelessness to secure suitable housing solutions.

You will work Thursday and Friday, with a half day on Wednesday, have the opportunity for remote or hybrid working, and contribute to Personalised Housing

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organise workload and multi-task effectively.
• Interest or experience in homelessness/housing options is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Renters Rights Act 2025 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate housing advice to applicants and landlords.
• Hold a caseload of households at risk of homelessness and develop Personalised Housing Plans.
• Promote incentives to landlords and negotiate to prevent tenancy breakdowns.
• Liaise with internal teams and external partners to support applicants.
