Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a motivated Housing Solutions practitioner to assess homelessness, develop personal housing plans, and liaise with partner services. You will work to prevent homelessness and support service users through creative, collaborative approaches, documenting information accurately and communicating clearly with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience of working effectively with a range of services and the skills, passion and resilience to work creatively with service users who are accessing Housing Solutions.
Ability to prioritise development and wellbeing of a team.

Responsibilities

Carry out homelessness assessments in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Domestic Abuse Act 2021.
Aim to prevent homelessness wherever possible using creative and collaborative methods.
Carry out investigations to support statutory decisions making through the application process.
Make referrals to relevant commissioned and non-commissioned services.
Work as part of a Housing Solutions team to prevent and relieve homelessness.
Record information accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, applicants and stakeholders.
Work a duty rota Monday–Friday with blended working options (home and office).
