Job summary

Statkraft seeks a Control Centre Operator (Day Shift) at the Cwm Rheidol scheme near Aberystwyth. You will monitor and control assets (onshore wind, hydro, BESS) in real time, operate HV/LV plant, and coordinate with National Grid and others to safely execute switching instructions.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or significant relevant industry experience with power generation knowledge.
• Experience operating electro-mechanical plant and control-room environments.
• Knowledge of Grid Code, HV safety rules and Safe Systems of Work needed.
• Proficiency with SCADA/EMS and quick learning of new tech for coordination.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure in 24/7 operations.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control renewable energy assets in real time to ensure safe operations.
• Operate HV/LV equipment per safety rules and procedures.
• Coordinate switching with National Grid and other stakeholders.
• Maximise asset availability by managing outages and fault restoration.
• Support commercial performance through asset reporting and constraints.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports to meet regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements across the Control Centre.
