Job summary

SSE plc in Perth, Scotland, is recruiting for an Operational Controller to join a 24/7 control room workforce, monitoring, controlling and optimising over 2GW of onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage assets. The role supports safe operation, Grid Code compliance and revenue optimisation across markets.

This permanent, full-time position requires a shift-based pattern with a 45-minute commute to the Perth site and a strong focus on safety, reliability and performance in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

Experience in an operational control room.
Strong analytical and IT skills.
HNC/HND or equivalent technical education.
Experience with industry safety frameworks.
Ability to multitask, prioritise and adapt.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate onshore wind, solar and battery assets in real time.
Despatch assets to maximise revenue across key markets.
Manage asset availability and report on capabilities with Grid Code compliance.
Act as an Operational Controller following safety rules and Safe Systems of Work.
Support site safety across more than 50 sites.
