Job summary
Eaton is seeking UPS Commissioning Engineers to support the UK South East region from Slough and surrounding areas. You will commission large UPS systems, validate performance, and coordinate with site teams to ensure safety and reliability.
The role emphasizes hands-on testing, remote monitoring setup, and reporting on powerquality events, with opportunities to engage in hyperscale data center projects and advancement within a global power management leader.
Qualifications
- Educated to a HNC or higher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with three phase electrical installation or maintenance.
- Familiarity with UPS systems and power reliability concepts.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP.
- Experience programming PLC control systems (power control, generator control, SCADA or process control).
Responsibilities
- Commissioning of large UPS systems at customer sites.
- Understand online vs line-interactive UPS systems.
- Create commissioning scripts for tests.
- Perform site acceptance testing on customer sites.
- Use and understand power quality meters.
- Experience in thermography and reporting.
- Battery experience with VRLA and Lithium Ion.
- Set up and configure remote monitoring software.
- Communicate with stakeholders on technical levels.
- Apply anti-static policies and ECN processes to repairs.
