Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our healthcare services in secure settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for streamlining processes, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare solutions. This role is remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, while managing and coordinating operations effectively across various sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage and streamline day-to-day company operations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency in delivering healthcare services across Immigration Removal Centres and Prisons.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set operational goals and align them with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Oversee healthcare services to ensure smooth delivery of care, meeting the needs of vulnerable populations.
Team Leadership:- Supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery and a positive, supportive working environment.
Process Improvement:- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across operations, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Work with various teams to ensure smooth coordination of tasks and improve overall operational efficiency.
Risk Management:- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential operational hazards in healthcare settings.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimise operational risks, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards.
Company Rota and Scheduling:- Oversee the company rota, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
- Coordinate with department heads to manage shift patterns, holidays, and any staffing issues.
Recruitment Support:- Work with the HR Manager to assist in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and interviewing.
- Ensure a smooth integration of new hires into the operational framework, ensuring they are trained and ready to meet the operational demands.
Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement:- Analyse incidents, performance issues, and operational challenges to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvements, ensuring that operational effectiveness is maximised and potential issues are addressed proactively.
Compliance & Reporting:- Ensure that all operations comply with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards, including health and safety protocols and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Regularly report on operational performance and improvements to senior leadership.
Organisational Structure Management:- Maintain and update the company’s organisational structure as required, ensuring changes are communicated to relevant teams and reflected in internal systems.
Return to Work Management:- Work with the HR Manager to facilitate return-to-work processes for staff following absences, ensuring smooth reintegration and compliance with company policies.
Stakeholder Management:- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Home Office, NHS Trusts, and private providers, ensuring smooth operational coordination and communication.
Resource Management:- Oversee the management of resources, including staffing, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are allocated efficiently to meet operational demands.
Budget Management:- Assist in the development and management of operational budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and cost control across all operational activities.
Training & Development:- Ensure all staff are well-trained, informed, and supported, offering opportunities for ongoing professional development and growth.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the healthcare sector or a secure environment (e.g., prisons or immigration centres).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong interpersonal skills to manage diverse groups.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare delivery within secure settings, along with relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in stakeholder management.
- Organisational Skills: Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operations management or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of operational processes and business management.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on process optimisation and problem-solving.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management software.
Desirable:
- Experience in working with government bodies (Home Office, NHS Trusts, etc.)
- A relevant qualification in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience in managing remote teams is a plus.
