Job summary

Victim Support is seeking a Triage & Early Interventions Officer for Thames Valley. This home-based role is 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2027, with occasional travel across the Thames Valley. Applicants must reside in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Buckinghamshire.

You will talk to people by telephone, provide compassionate support, and work in a small team within a large independent charity. Training and ongoing support are provided to help victims cope and recover.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role would be helpful but is not essential as you will receive robust training prior to working directly with clients.
• You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

Responsibilities

• Talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences. You will need to use your communication skills and resilient nature to help those dealing with trauma and the effects of crime.
• Working within a small supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development.
