Job summary

Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop developer to design, implement, and maintain our Windows app stack using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and XAML. You will ensure accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility while collaborating with design, UX, QA and other engineers.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor teammates, and drive end-to-end ownership of features from conception to release and ongoing maintenance in a distributed, office-less environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop development with Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML and some native code.
• Deep understanding of Windows architecture and interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record designing and shipping reliable, scalable desktop apps.
• Strong experience with Windows accessibility APIs and inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop apps.
• Define best practices for UI architecture, performance, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts: keyboard navigation, screen readers, focus management.
• Collaborate with product design, UX, QA to shape feature roadmaps for Windows platform.
• Own features end-to-end from conception to release and maintenance.
• Diagnose complex bugs, performance issues, memory leaks, and cross-version problems.
