Job summary

Made Tech is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to join its Cyber practice in the UK. You will be the senior security engineering voice on client engagements, guiding design choices and security controls across complex government programmes with citizens and sensitive data in mind.

You’ll embed security practices in design, development, and operations, mentor colleagues, and help grow Made Tech's security community. This role blends engineering discipline with strategic security leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience designing secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proven track record embedding security tooling and automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language used for security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end security architecture across engagements and set patterns for identity, network, and data protection.
• Lead vulnerability remediation as an engineering programme with KPIs and risk registers.
• Embed threat modelling, secure code reviews, and container scanning into delivery cycles.
• Navigate UK government security standards and coordinate with government security communities.
• Communicate risk to senior stakeholders with actionable reporting.
• Set incident response and detection engineering standards across engagements.
