Job summary

100 Percent is seeking a fully remote Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer to lead backup, recovery, and platform resilience across an on-premises/hybrid estate. The role centres on managing Veeam, VMware and Hyper‑V technologies with strong automation and monitoring focus.

You will mentor engineers, drive incident resolution and contribute to designing scalable infrastructure while ensuring high availability for business-critical services in a fully remote setup.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar.
• Very strong hands-on Veeam Backup & Replication experience, including backup jobs, replication, recovery testing, troubleshooting and platform administration.
• Excellent VMware vSphere / ESXi administration experience.
• Strong Hyper-V administration experience.
• Clear background in on-premises or hybrid infrastructure environments, rather than a purely cloud-based or Azure DevOps-focused role.
• Experience supporting highly available production infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana.
• Experience automating operational tasks using PowerShell, scripting or similar technologies.
• Excellent understanding of backup, disaster recovery and platform resilience.
• Ability to coordinate technical workloads and mentor engineers within a collaborative team.
• Experience with any of the following would be advantageous but is not essential: Zerto, Cohesity, OpsRamp, Microsoft 365 Backup, workflow automation tools such as n8n, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ITIL environments, Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience, customer onboarding and service transition.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and optimise the Veeam Backup & Replication platform.
• Own backup, recovery, replication and disaster recovery processes across the infrastructure estate.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for Veeam, VMware, Hyper‑V and wider infrastructure issues.
• Lead technical investigations and major incident recovery, particularly around backup, restore and platform availability.
• Drive automation to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, observability and alerting using tools such as Grafana.
• Coordinate the day‑to‑day priorities of the Platform Engineering team.
• Maintain engineering standards, documentation and operational procedures.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, platform optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new platform capabilities.
• Help deliver highly resilient, reliable infrastructure supporting business‑critical services.
