Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Revenue Officer for a 2 months contract, fully remote in the UK. Umbrella pay rate is £44.05–£48.26 per hour. The role focuses on administration, collection, and recovery of Council revenues for a local authority.

You will deliver frontline customer service, maintain revenue records, and collaborate with external agents to maximise income, while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a Local Authority Revenues Service with strong knowledge of Business Rates.
• Proficiency using MRI (Capita/Academy) or Northgate systems.
• Experience in local authority revenues, debt recovery, taxation, benefits, or related financial environment.
• Good general education with strong written and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver front-line customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Handle customer correspondence and determine follow-up actions.
• Maintain and monitor revenue records and liability information for accuracy and compliance.
• Administer recovery and collection of outstanding debts using recovery and enforcement procedures.
• Collaborate with collection agents and external organizations on debt recovery matters.
• Identify vulnerable customers and ensure appropriate support before pursuing recovery actions.
