Job Title: Remote Performance Support Manager

Role Overview:

As a leader championing train reliability within our Performance Team, reporting to the Deputy Head of Performance, you'll oversee performance management systems, ensuring smooth operations of rolling stock and projects in compliance with standards. This role values collaboration, attention to detail, and a culture of safety and excellence.

How You Will Contribute:
  1. Based in Norwich, communicate clearly with train operators to support safe, reliable, and efficient services.
  2. Provide guidance to reduce fault impacts, document issues thoroughly, and assist Depot teams using technical insights and data.
  3. Act as the first point of contact during incidents, contributing to investigations and reviews with professionalism.
  4. Mentor apprentices and colleagues, sharing knowledge patiently.
  5. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, proactively identifying early warning signs of faults using telemetry tools like RDS and OTMR.
  6. Create incident reports to identify root causes and prevent future issues.
Experience:

Essential:

  • Recognized Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical systems
  • Experience with 110V DC, 415V AC, and 25kV systems
  • Ability to conduct fault investigations and read technical drawings
  • Effective communication, record keeping, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and railway operations
  • Willingness to work shifts and in safety-critical environments

Desirable:

  • Experience in safety-critical environments and remote fault diagnosis
  • Background in railway engineering
  • Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Level 3+)
  • Familiarity with Railway Rules and Regulations
