Sedgwick UK is seeking a Liability Claims Handler to manage a varied caseload of Employers' Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) and Third Party Property Damage claims with flexible working options.

Based anywhere in the UK, the role involves investigating policy coverage and liability, negotiating settlements, and handling claims through to conclusion with independence and collaboration within our liability team.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of current case law, common law/statutes, and regulations.
• Insurance qualifications are desirable, but relevant experience is equally valued.
• Strong team working and collaboration skills.
• Good understanding of insurance law and policy wording interpretation.
• Knowledge of contract, statute, and civil liability.
• Strong investigation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with corporate clients, small businesses, insurers, and brokers.
• Influencing skills to gain agreement on proposals and ideas.
• Effective listening and empathetic response skills.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Motivation to provide prompt, efficient and personalised service to both external and internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of Employers' Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) injury claims, alongside Third Party Property Damage claims, with flexible working arrangements including hybrid options.
• Investigate policy coverage and liability; negotiate and settle claims on behalf of insurers and corporate clients.
• Handle injury and property damage claims through to conclusion, working independently and under referral where appropriate.
• Investigate allegations against policyholders, provide liability advice, gather and assess evidence, and identify potential fraud risks.
• Maintain proactive communication with all parties, ensure accurate record keeping and correspondence throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Possibly manage litigated files where required.
• Sedgwick supports a wide range of liability claims, helping clients protect their brands and reputations.
