Job summary

MCS Group is working with an international technology business to appoint an IT Systems Engineer who will own the internal IT environment, and support growth by improving security, governance and access management.

This role moves beyond helpdesk, offering autonomy, exposure to cloud infrastructure, DevOps and automation, and collaboration with engineering teams across locations to scale secure IT practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support, systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong grasp of IT infrastructure, networks, OS and user administration.
• Interest in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, scripting or automation; willingness to develop.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day internal IT operations to keep systems secure, reliable and fit for purpose.
• Review and improve IT processes across governance, security, access management and internal policies.
• Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including provisioning and access control.
• Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, networking and cloud-based systems.
• Collaborate with international engineering colleagues on infrastructure improvements, automation and DevOps initiatives.
• Support scaling the business by introducing structured, secure ways of working.
• Gain exposure to cloud technologies and emerging AI-driven automation.
