Job summary

MCS Group in Northern Ireland is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to support users, systems and networks across multiple locations. This is a hands-on role for someone with a solid support background who wants broader infrastructure exposure while working with an experienced IT team.

You’ll handle day-to-day technical issues, keep core services running and contribute to infrastructure improvements using Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VMware and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in IT infrastructure or a broad technical support role.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and end‑user devices.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity and application issues through the IT service desk.
• Help maintain LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, VPNs and network security controls.
• Assist with VMware, Azure, backup, disaster recovery and infrastructure projects.
• Maintain clear records of issues, systems and IT assets, escalating complex problems when needed.
• Provide technical support for time‑sensitive business operations, including occasional additional hours when required.
