Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to design, develop, and enhance engaging digital and blended learning solutions that align with organisational goals and support a diverse learner population across the business.

You will lead end-to-end design projects, shaping learning journeys using the latest tools and instructional design principles to bring learning to life, with expertise in Storyline, Rise, and other digital content platforms.

Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in Instructional Design, L&D, OD, or Learning Technologies (e.g. CIPD L&D, ATD).
• Proven experience in a similar instructional design or digital learning role.
• Advanced skills in Articulate Storyline and Rise (essential).
• Proficient in a range of digital tools (e.g. Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, Microsoft Teams, Trello, SharePoint).
• Strong knowledge of learning design frameworks, adult learning theory, and accessibility standards.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging digital, blended, and face-to-face learning solutions using best-in-class instructional methods.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), managers, and stakeholders to identify learning needs and define objectives.
• Develop a wide range of learning formats: eLearning, microlearning, videos, infographics, simulations, gamification, virtual classrooms, and more.
• Use authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, Canva, and Synthesia to create interactive learning content.
• Ensure accessibility (WCAG AA), ED&I, and learning theory are embedded in all design solutions.
• Apply learning evaluation models to assess impact and continuously improve content based on analytics and user feedback.
• Contribute to digital learning standards, templates, and style guides across the team.
• Support junior team members and line manage where required.
• Use SCORM/xAPI standards and work with LMS platforms for learning delivery and evaluation.
